Pinks daughter Willow got to meet Rihanna at the Grammys
Did you catch the Grammys, a/k/a “Bruno Mars and Friends” on Sunday night? I missed it, and am kind of bummed I missed Pink singing a kick-ass rendition of her song “Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken” during the show. More on that in a bit.
I’ve made it no secret how much I love Pink. (I am still praying for enough of a financial windfall to be able to see her live in April.) I also think she’s a great mom to her kids with Carey Hart, 13-month-old son, Jameson, and six-year-old daughter, Willow. I’m sure that after Sunday, Pink is mother of the year, at least as far as Willow is concerned.
Pink and Carey made Grammy night a family affair, posing with Willow and a slightly cranky Jameson before heading out. While Jameson didn’t make it to the ceremony (he would definitely have been shushed by Blue Ivy), Pink’s mom, Judy Moore, came along, looking quite lovely in a beaded gown. In a photo with her mom Pink posted on Instagram she bragged, “Look how fabulous my mom is!!!” I totally agree.
Although Pink lost out on her award for Best Pop Solo Performance to Ed Sheeran, she was a hero to Willow, introducing her backstage to her idol, Rihanna. As we saw in a pic from Pink’s Instagram, above, Willow stood on a chair and was on the receiving end of a hug from Ri-Ri. Proud dad Carey also posted a photo of his little girl and her idol.
During the ceremony, Pink changed out of her multicolored, feathered Armani gown (of which I was not a fan) to perform “Wild Hearts.” Fans looking for Pink to replicate her American Music Awards performance, where she sang and danced on the side of a building, may have been disappointed, as there were no acrobatics. Wearing a white t-shirt, jeans and no shoes, Pink sang a powerful rendition of the song, accompanied by an American Sign Language translator. From the snippets I’ve seen online, she doesn’t need the theatrics. Girl can SING. Afterwards, she posted lo Instagram, “We f—ing did that! Willow met her idol tonight @badgalriri … her fav performances were Kendrick, me, and Gaga.”
She is great, and I love her “Pull no punches” attitude, which hasn’t really changed since she emerged on the music scene. It’s kind of seamlessly shifted to her thoughts on motherhood too. As she told Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet on Sunday, “I’m just trying to be exciting.” She then recalled, “A woman in a grocery store told me] she enjoys me because I like to F up in public a lot. She finds strength in knowing someone is out there screwing up like [her], too.” Pink is the best – I’m sure her mom Judy is proud of her too.
